Campillos, Spain | 4 July 2025 — After seasons of coming agonisingly close, MatraX Racing finally seized the top step of the Sodi World Series (SWS) by winning the 2025 World Final at the International Kart Circuit of Campillos. Against a field of the planet’s 50 fastest endurance squads, the Dubai-based team with 100 % Portuguese DNA wrote a historic chapter for Portugal: its first-ever SWS World Championship.

A WEEK-LONG MASTERCLASS IN PREPARATION

Touching down on Monday, the quartet of André Caiado, Rúben Conceição, Miguel Neto and Duarte Lopes dedicated every session to deciphering Campillos’ high-speed layout. Micro-adjustments to driving lines and kart setup delivered the crucial tenths that separate contenders from champions.

QUALIFYING: STATEMENT OF INTENT

In Friday’s time-trial the stopwatch stopped a mere 0.001 s shy of pole, locking MatraX into P2 and signalling that the team’s pace was world-title material.

12 HOURS, COUNTLESS PLOT TWISTS

Saturday’s race opened with a flurry of slipstream battles. Mid-event, a pit-lane infraction cost 17 seconds and dropped the squad down the order, yet disciplined strategy calls and metronomic lap times reeled the leaders back in. MatraX not only posted the fastest lap of the entire event but also kept its tyre and fuel management on target for a last-hour surge.

A FINALE FOR THE AGES

With the chequered flag in sight, the Portuguese outfit unleashed its final push, grabbing the lead on the very last lap to clinch the gold it had chased since finishing second and third in previous editions. Years of persistence, data-driven preparation and seamless teamwork finally paid off.

“MORE THAN A TEAM, WE’RE FAMILY”

“This title reflects relentless work, sacrifice and, above all, unity. On and off the track, we operate as one—and that makes all the difference,” the drivers declared in a joint statement.

Team strategist Bernardo Ferreira once again orchestrated pit-stop precision and race-pace consistency, underscoring the importance of back-room excellence in modern endurance karting.

Prize-giving vibes in Campillos: the MatraX Racing quartet flashes ther ItakaShop vouchers,
a free-entry pass to the next SWS 24-hour endurance race and the winner’s trophy.

POWERED BY MATRAX TYRES

None of this would have been possible without the steadfast support of MatraX Tyres and its CEO André Bandeira, whose belief in the project transformed an ambition into reality.
